Drain Cleaning & Unblocking
When it comes to clearing drains, J&F Drainage has the expertise and tools to solve any problem.
When your drains go wrong it can be a complete nightmare. If you’re experiencing blockages, gurgles, slow water draining or bad smells coming from your drains, and you think something serious is wrong, it’s best to call in the experts. At J&F Drainage whether it’s drain cleaning or drain unblocking, we’ve seen it before, and we’ve fixed it before. No problem!
Why Are My Drains Blocked?
Blockages can be caused by the build-up of fats, oils, grease or soaps, dirt, silt, leaves or foreign objects, or structural defects like roots, corrosion or subsidence. And whatever the cause, the consequences can be serious: bad smells, a collapsed sewer pipe or a toilet overflowing. The solution may involve removing an obstruction, drain cleaning or even repairing a structural defect.
Uncovering the Problem
If trying to unblock the drain isn’t fixing the problem, we may suggest carrying out a CCTV inspection of your drains to understand exactly what is going on. We will pass a camera through the drain, so we can see exactly what the problem is and recommend the necessary steps to fix this with a long-term solution to help prevent it happening again.
Tree Roots
If your blockage has been caused by tree roots then J&F Drainage have the equipment, expertise and experience to remove them. Roots can enter drains and sewage pipes via cracks and joints, creating obstructions and potentially breaking down the integrity of the pipe. We'll quickly, safely and effectively remove the roots and advise on any remedial work that may be required to prevent the problem from happening again.
The Tools We Use
Whatever the problem, J&F Drainage have all the tools we need to do the job. A problem caused by build-up of hard scale, fat or grease can be broken down in seconds by high-pressure water jetting. Tree roots growing into your drain can be cut and cleared with our electro-mechanical cleaning tools (cutters and blades fitted to rotating flexible cables).
Top tips to keep your drains flowing:
-
Love your loo: Make sure that only wastewater, toilet tissue and human waste goes down your drains and into the sewer.
-
Bin it - don't block it: Wrap up sanitary products, nappies, wet wipes and condoms and put them in the bin.
-
Think - not in the sink! After cooking, fat, oil and grease should be left to cool - it can then be put in the bin or mixed with seeds and nuts to make a feeder for birds.
-
Chemicals, solvents, engine oil and paint should be taken to your local refuse site.
-
Medicines, tablets, syringes and needles should be taken to your pharmacist, local hospital or health authority for safe disposal
